Pikos, Michael A.
Dr. Michael A. Pikos has extensive experience in implant surgery, having placed more than 11,000 implants since 1983. He performs numerous bone graft reconstructions and emphasizes principles of prosthetics and biomechanics that dictate the ultimate success of implants. He is a well published author and has lectured extensively on dental implants both nationally and internationally. Since 1990, Dr. Pikos has been teaching Advanced Bone Grafting courses while maintaining a private practice in Florida limited exclusively to implant surgery.
Dr. Pikos is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and Diplomate of the American Society of Osseointegration. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Surgery, Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, at the University of Miami School of Medicine, an Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, at Ohio State University, an Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Nova Southeastern University, College of Dental Medicine and a Courtesy Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Periodontology, at the University of Florida College of Dentistry.
